  1. Andrew Nelson Fiori, 78, of Goodview, Va., passed to his Heavenly home on Sunday, May 19, 2019. He was born on August 1, 1940, in Tuxedo, N.Y., to the late Anthony Justus Fiori and Janet Pohl Fiori. Following his graduation from North Shore High School in Glen Head, N.Y., he pursued an architectural degree from Syracuse University, He also served almost two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in rural Columbia helping with community development. As a registered architect, he worked on several large hospital, university and government projects retiring from Raytheon in 2006. He pursued many hobbies including sailing, woodworking, photography and designing his own house. He will be remembered for how he loved his family, his passion for learning and community service projects. He had a huge heart and anyone that knew him would agree. He is survived by his loving wife of ears, Bonnie Louise Fiori; his son, Michael Anthony Fiori; his daughter, Rebecca Ann Gilmer and spouse, Andy; grandchildren, Hannah and Micah Gilmer; uncle, Joseph Fiori and spouse, Mary Ann; his brother, Joseph Fiori and spouse, Lorraine; his sisters, Joan Fiori Blanchfield and spouse, William, Anne Struglia and spouse, Vincent; and Barbara Fiori; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family and friends will be received from 2 until 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Eastlake Community Church in Moneta, Va., followed by a celebration of life service at 3 p.m. Pastor Troy Keaton will officiate and interment will follow at the new Eastlake Community Church Cemetery In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either The Agape Center, Moneta, Va., or to The Eastlake Community Church designated “Building Fund.” As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
