Leon Ferguson

STERLING CITY – Services for Leon Ferguson, 88, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Sterling City Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Cemetery in San Angelo.

Leon was born in Erath County to Virgil and Mabel Ferguson.

He served in the Army during the Korean War era, and married Carolyn Cope on May 28, 1960 in San Angelo. She preceded him in death in 2007.

The couple had two sons, Jay Ferguson from San Angelo, and Robert Ferguson and wife Terrye, and three grandsons Wyatt, Chance and Rowdy, of Sterling City.

Leon and Carolyn lived at the ranch until 1962 and then lived in Odessa where he worked for the city until retirement.

He was a member of Sherwood Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Leon is survived by three sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
