Services for Gayle Defore age 62, of Grapeland will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Wesley Beasley officiating. Burial will follow in Ferguson Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Defore died Wednesday surrounded by family and friends. She was born March 1, 1953 in Houston to John and Bonita Brumley Wilkes. Mrs. DeFore was a homemaker but was a retired nurse from Palestine Memorial Hospital. She loved her kids and grandkids. She loved cooking and spending time adding to her rose garden collection. She was also an avid reader and loved the holidays, especially Halloween.
Mrs. DeFore is survived by her husband Jack DeFore, her mother Bonita Miles and husband Bruce, mother-in-law LaVerne Harding, a daughter Donna Parker and husband Brad, sons, Dale DeFore and wife Renee and Danny Defore and wife Brandy, sister, Ann Moseley and husband Donald, sister-in-law Mary DeFore and family, brothers, Don Wilkes, Guy Wilkes and wife Kim, brothers-in-law, Mike DeFore and family, Larry Defore and wife Melinda, and David DeFore and wife Yvonne, grandchildren Brad DeFore, Amanda DeFore, Caroline Parker, Brynn Parker, Lily DeFore, Audrey DeFore, and Chance DeFore and numerous nieces and nephews.
Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
