Sommer Elizabeth Sturgill Miller

HARRISONBURG, VA/APPALACHIA, VA – Sommer Elizabeth Sturgill Miller, 45, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at her residence in Harrisonburg, Va.
She was a 1992 graduate of Appalachia High School, where she was a majorette in the marching band. Sommer worked as a nail technician for many years in Big Stone Gap, Va.. She attended the Church of the Incarnation in Harrisonburg, where she was very involved in the church ministry programs.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert R. “Randy” Sturgill. Sommer is survived by her children, Kelsey Miller and Austin Sturgill, both of Big Stone Gap, and Sara DeBord of Kingsport, Tn.; her mother, Gina Blair Lee (David) of Big Stone Gap; brother, Aaron Sturgill (Kathryn Applegate) of Tacoma, Wa.; sister, Chelsea Lee of Johnson City, Tn.; and a special friend, Katrina Didot of Harrisonburg, Va.
The family would like to thank the congregation of the Church of the Incarnation for the love and support shown Sommer during her years in Harrisonburg.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at The Cave Church (5748 Industrial Park Road) in Norton, Va. with the Rev. Jimmy Mitchell and David Lee officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Cave Church, P. O. Box 96, Norton, Va. 24279.
