Marian Barrett

Marian (Dow) Barrett, of Roslindale, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Wingate Residences of Needham.  At age 93 she had a long, happy and fulfilling life leaving a admirable legacy. Post World War II she began her career as an administrator for the US Army Division of Intelligence that would later become the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). She left her career to raise and educate a family of 6 children, Dr. Martin L. Barrett Jr and his late wife Susan. of N. Attleboro, Susanne A. (Barrett) Dudley and her late husband
Robert of Canton, Dr. George L. Barrett and his wife Kathleen of Milton, Dr. John B. Barrett of Beverly Hills, CA, Thomas A. Barrett of Rocky River, OH, and Frances B. Foster and her husband Dr. C. Stephen Foster of Weston.She was preceded in death by her husband Martin Leo Barrett,
Sr. a decorated hero of World War II, brother Dr. Elias C. Dow of Brookline and
brother James C. Dow of Boston. She is survived by her brother Charles E. Dow
of Boston, her sister Sallie A. Casey of Brookline and grand children Susanne
Barrett, Cathy Kwon, Dr. Robert Dudley, Alexandra Joyce, Joseph Dudley, Erin
Linnoila, Lauren Barrett, Kathleen Barrett, George Barrett, III and many loved
nieces and nephews.

Marian was a woman of strong faith and had a fervent passion
for life, her family and her friends. 
She was always ready to listen, share her life’s wisdom and send
interceding prayers through St. Anthony and the Blessed Mother Mary. Where
there was darkness, she found light. This was her gift. It is her time to rest
in eternal peace with The Lord.

Visiting hours at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., EAST MILTON SQUARE on Thursday 4-8PM. A Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Cedars of Lebanon, 61 Rockwood St., Jamaica Plain on Friday, December 7, at 10AM. Interment at Mt. Benedict Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.
