Mrs. Helen L. Workman of Avondale, Pennsylvania and formerly of Dover, Delaware, passed away on February 23, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.
Helen is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Ralph D. Workman. Born on April 24, 1926 in Wyoming, Delaware Helen was the daughter of the late Dewey and Ida Mae Dixon. She was also predeceased by her brother Roland Dixon.
Helen was a longtime resident of Dover, Delaware where she was born and raised and later raised her own family in Dover as well. Helen worked for the late Dr. Bishoff for many years. She was very active in her church and was a loving friend to many. Helen was also a volunteer at Kent General Hospital.
Helen moved to Avondale Pennsylvania several years ago to live with her son and daughter-in-law and to be closer to her grandchildren. Helen spent her last years surrounded by her family, including her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she also made many new friends during her time in Pennsylvania.
Helen was predeceased by her son, Kenneth E. Workman who passed away in 2017. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sheri Workman, her granddaughters, Jennifer Meehan (Brian) and Kristen Rushing (Paul) and her great grandchildren, Lauren, Brian, Emily and Olivia with whom she shared many special moments. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Helen lived a full life, filled with love, family and friends. She was devoted to the Lord and she is now at home with him and all of her loved ones that passed before her.
Visitation for Helen will be on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 10-11 AM at the Foulk Funeral Home of West Grove, 200 Rose Hill Road, West Grove, PA. COVID-19 restrictions will be in place with a limited number of people allowed inside the building at the same time. The interment will be on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 12:30 PM at the Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover, DE.
