Gloria Magargee nee Borio, aged 83 of Thornton, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 9th, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Magargee for their 42 years of marriage.
Born in 1937 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Borio and the late Anne Borio nee Ocepek.
Gloria graduated in 1954 from Turtle Creek High School, followed by an associate degree from a Pittsburgh area Junior College. Eventually, she worked for 25 years as a medical secretary at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media, Pennsylvania, retiring in 2002.
A follower of Jesus Christ, she was a decades long member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Thornton, Pennsylvania and most recently, was a member of New Horizons Fellowship Church in Media, Pennsylvania.
A 1992 trip to Israel developed in her a love for international travel which she pursued with several European vacations throughout the 2000s. Her international travels culminated in a visit to Italy in 2007 while her brother Donald worked in Milan. She was well known as an excellent baker–her Christmas cookies were miniature masterpieces. She was also a fastidious housekeeper, bringing order even to the leaves in her yard. But best of all, she was known for praying— as a parent, as a member of Marilyn Hecksher’s bible study group, and as a volunteer with Healing Rooms Ministries.
Gloria is survived by her son Michael and his wife Janet; her son David and his wife Stephanie; and her son Brian and his wife Carmen. Remarkably, Gloria is the grandmother of fourteen grandchildren which include Megan, Benjamin, Ross, Patrick, Ryan, Cole, Reilly, Ella, Maggie, Grace, Quinn, Reid, Drew, and Gabbie. She is also survived by her sister Mary Ann and brother Donald.
Arrangements are being handled by Kuzo Funeral Home of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, funeral services on July 25 2020 are limited to family, but will be live-streamed. Please check back here for the Live Stream URL Link and any other additional details which may be posted prior to the 25th.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mailed in Gloria’s name to New Horizons Fellowship, 1033 Fern Hill Road, West Chester, Pennsylvania 19380.
