SPRINGBORO — Geraldine A. (Judy) Leslie, 76, of Springboro, passed away on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at Rolling Fields Nursing Home, Conneautville.
She was born Oct. 6, 1939, in Blooming Valley, the daughter of the late Donald E. Merritt and Meta Houy Merritt. She had married Clifford Waterhouse. She subsequently married Ronald Leslie. They preceded her in death. Her companion, Ronald Obuszewski, preceded her in death Dec. 31, 2015.
Judy had been employed as a cook at Brooks Hall at Allegheny College. She had also worked as a cook at Alliance College and worked in the housekeeping department at Edinboro College. She was of the Methodist faith.
She was a member of various AA groups, enjoyed going to the retreats at Cook Forest and she loved the lead meetings. She enjoyed word search, crocheting, painting ceramics, crafts and TV. She loved her pet dogs, Angel, Niki, Ava and Mikey.
Judy is survived by a daughter, Ann Marie Austin of Conneautville; four sons, Clifford Waterhouse and his wife, Betsy, of Venango, Robert Waterhouse and his wife, Gail, of Venango, Ronald C. Leslie and his wife, Connie, of Mooresville, N.C., and James A. Leslie and his companion, Arlene, of Springboro; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald Merritt and his wife, Adrienne, of Venango, and Donald Merritt and his wife, Lois, of Venango. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Miracle Lee Leslie; a grandson, Ryan Waterhouse; a great-grandson, Darian Waterhouse.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. at Kenneth G. Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, All are welcome to attend the funeral service at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Private family inurnment will be in Venango Cemetery.
