Robert “Bob” Lee Wilcox

Robert “Bob” Lee Wilcox, age 90, of Richwood and formerly Marion, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Marion General Hospital.

Bob was born in Mansfield, Ohio on May 17, 1930 to the late Cecil Martin and Helen Belle (Vincent) Wilcox Sr. He was raised in and called Marion home.

Bob met Edna Mae Sours at the Marion Depot Restaurant. The two were married on August 16, 1947 in Greenup, Kentucky.   Bob worked for more than forty years retiring from The Erie Lackawanna/Conrail Railroad as a railroader, caboose attendant and various other positions during his tenure.

Bob attended New Covenant Fellowship Church in Marion. He enjoyed collecting Erie Lackawanna Memorabilia and tinkering in his garage while listening to music. In younger years, Bob liked to visit family in Houston.

Bob is survived by his wife, Edna of Richwood; children, Nancy Baxter of Houston, Pam Mead of Richwood, Teresa Hutchins of Richwood, Kathy (Tom) Jackson of Richwood, and Randy Wilcox of Houston; grandchildren, Jamie Baxter, Mindy Fitch, Brooke (Geof) Phipps, Jeremy Jordan, Megan (Michael) Hartsock, Keith Jackson, and Eric (Brittany) Jackson, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous extended Family members.

In addition to Bob’s parents, he was preceded in death by his Son, Pvt. Rick Wilcox, who lost his life in Vietnam. Also preceded in death were brothers, Bill (Barb) and Cecil Jr. (Alice), sister, Helen (William) Krabill.

A public graveside service will be held in the new side of Marion Cemetery on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 1:15 pm with Pastor Steve Jobe officiating.
