Margaret Ruth Todd, 100 years of age, of Ostrander passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, January 24, 2021 at the Ohio Living Sarah Moore home.
She was born May 28, 1920 in Delphos, Ohio to the late Edward and Mathilda (VonLehmden) Haehn and later graduated from Delphos St. John High School. On June 5, 1941, she married the love of her life, Orville Leroy Todd in Delphos St. John’s Church. Together they shared over 40 years of marriage.
Margaret managed the cafeteria at Columbus DeSales High School for over 35 years and was a devoted and faithful member of St. Matthias Church in Columbus, and later, St. Mary Catholic Church in Delaware. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and shared her food, recipes and tips with all.
She was amazingly sharp and her humor was the delight of all who knew her. Margaret loved to laugh and her wit served her well until her end.
The family would like to thank the nurses at the James Cancer Hospital, those at Sarah Moore and the staff of Grace Hospice, especially nurse Dale and ass’t. Tyra.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Stella Dickman of Ostrander and Karen Channels of South Carolina; grandchildren, Laura (Terri) of Pataskala, Todd of New Albany and Nathan (Joetta) of Mansfield, Jessica (Rob) Robinson of Oklahoma, Maureen (Bryant) Blanton of Newberry, S.C., Benjamin (Courtney) Channels of Arlington, VA.; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Liam Dickman, RJ and Kiersten Denney, Alex Armstrong, Kylee and Kinley Dickman. Tabor, Beckett and Grier Robinson, Campbell Dietz, Brantleigh, Sawyer and Kendall Blanton, Virginia and Hutchinson Channels.
In addition to her parents and siblings, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Orville and her son-in-law Floyd Dickman.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 5 – 7 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at W. William Street, Delaware. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 82 E. William Street, Delaware and will be livestreamed by logging into www.delawarestmary.org . Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, guests are required to wear masks and recognize social distancing requirements.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Floyd Dickman Library at St. Mary School, Delaware, OH.
