Lucretia “Pat” Baker

Mrs. Lucretia “Pat” Baker passed away peacefully at her residence in Estero, FL on September 22, 2021. She was 101 years young. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and all but one of her brothers and sisters.

Pat was a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother and was devoted to her family, friends and anyone in need. She met the love of her life, Holley Baker before World War II in Marion. After the war, they were married and raised a family of five children. While Holley worked on his law degree, Pat and Holley supported each other and grew their family. They worked hard work, enjoyed their family and gave back to the community.

Pat was active in many organizations in the Marion area and was a volunteer at Marion General Hospital. She was an active member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church.

Pat moved from Ohio to Florida in 2006. She was active in her community and gained many new friends in the Fort Myers area. Pat was an enthusiastic Ohio State Buckeyes fan who loved to travel and enjoyed all manner of competitive games. Her exuberant spirit, twinkling eyes and uplifting smile will be missed by all. Pat was a devoted Christian who thanked the Lord for her blessings daily. She is survived by her sister, Eleanor Fennig of Decatur, IN, two daughters Patty Decker (Mike Decker – deceased) and Kate Baker- Alyea (Stephen Alyea), her three sons, Nick Baker, Holley Baker (Kim Dangler-Baker) and James Baker (Rita Baker), her Grand Daughters (Jennifer Decker-Wheeler, Melanie Baker-Dolton, Emily Alyea-Geisart, Mackenzie Alyea, Sarah Alyea-Chastain, and Jenna Sauer) and Grandsons (Michael Decker and Erik Baker), 15 Great-Grand-Children and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved her very much.

Visitation will be Friday October 1, 2021 at Snyder Funeral Homes, Gunder/Hall Chapel, 347 West Center Street, Marion from 10AM to 12Noon; Funeral Liturgy will follow at 12Noon with Fr. Thomas Buffer officiating; entombment will be in Marion Cemetery; post-service lunch and get-together will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall after the graveside service.
