James Riley Ryan Jr.

James Riley Ryan Jr., 67 of Galion passed away July 20, 2021, at Crestline Nursing Center. Jim was born to the late James R. Ryan Sr. and Irene (Baxter) Ryan on December 04, 1953, in Canton Ohio. He married Paula (Haala) Ryan on September 8, 1992.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by son Jeremy (Amanda) Ryan of Crossville TN, grandchildren Damon, Ethan, and Gracie Ryan,  sisters Carol (Jim) Kurtz of Silverlake, OH and Karen (Gary) Denny of Kent, OH, nieces and nephews, Jen, Jim, Beth, and Amy, as well as special friends, Keith and Karman Martin of Galion.

James graduated from Stow High School in 1971 and United Electronics Institute. He was an electrician for the telephone system and formerly worked with ITT,  Emerson which later became Vertiv. James was a member of the American Legion Post of Galion, Army Navy Club of Galion, The Galion Moose Lodge, and Trackside. He was also formerly the president of the Iris Society of Mansfield. Jim was just one of the good ‘ol boys and will be dearly missed by many.

Visiting hours are 1:00 PM-3:00 PM Sunday, August 1st at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, 215 N. Walnut St., Bucyrus.  A funeral service will follow visitation at 3:00 PM on August 1 with Interment to follow in Brokensword Cemetery. Memorials may be made in James’s honor to donor’s choice and moments of remembrance may be left online at www.munzpirnstill.com.
