Henry William Steinhausser Sr., age 90, passed away peacefully at Countryview of Sunbury on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Henry was born on March 10, 1930, in Pickerington, Ohio, to Herbert E. Steinhausser and Zelda G. (Peters) Steinhausser, both of whom preceded him in death.
Surviving Henry, and cherishing his memory, are his son, Henry W. “Bill” Steinhausser Jr. (Debbie) of Stoutsville; his brother, Jack Steinhausser of Gahanna; his sister, Joyce Steinhausser of Mt. Gilead; grandchildren, Kitty (Mike) Brewer of Cardinton, Angel C. (Patrick) Miracle-Sargent of Marengo, Chad (Sara) Steinhausser of Gahanna, Dustin (Eva) Steinhausser of Stoutsville, Brian (Ashleigh) Steinhausser of Stoutsville; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, Abigail Emma Miracle-Watson. He is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Emma J. Delgarn Steinhausser; daughters Claudia J. Nutt and Carol S. Cumbo; brothers Lloyd “Popeye,” John, Fred, and Chester Steinhausser; and his sisters Doris Paudiez, Clara Purtee, Ruth Madory, Jean Miller and Audrey Taynor.
Henry loved his family and helped every member in any way he could. He was a gear cutter (Class A) with Dresser Jeffrey Manufacturing for over 30 years. Henry also served as the union steward at Dresser Jeffrey for many years. He loved to travel around the country – the highlight of which was the Herkimer Diamond Mine in New York. Henry was a longtime, active member of the Alum Creek Friends Church.
A graveside service will be held for Henry at the Oak Grove Memorial Park Mausoleum in Lexington on Monday, October 19, 2020, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Henry’s name are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH, 43215.
