Doris L. Smith-Hans-Cornett went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning, November 2, 2019, in her home surrounded by her family. She was 84.
She was born February 23, 1935, to parents Isaac J. & Marie (Krebs) Easterday in Jeromesville. Doris graduated from Perrysville High School with the class of 1953, and married Richard Smith June of 1954, the pair were married for 43 years until his passing in 1997.
Doris and Richard owned and operated Smith Garage in Loudonville for many years and later decided to move to Florida in 1980. They both were instrumental in founding the Loudonville Alliance Church and the Punta Gorda Alliance Church in Florida. Doris was very devoted to each church and remained very active throughout the years.
She is survived by her children Timothy Smith of Punta Gorda, FL and Anita (Mike) Stroh of Lakeville; grandchildren Angela, Michelle, Brandon, and Brittany; 8 great-grandchildren; her siblings Gerald Easterday, Robert Easterday, Freda Strohminger, and Alice Reynolds; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 husbands Richard Smith, Carl Hans, and Dan Cornett; her infant son Clinton Smith; her infant granddaughter Angel; and her siblings Lawrence Easterday, Leonard Easterday, and Wilma Reynolds.
Her family will receive friends on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Snyder Funeral Home- Lindsey Chapel, Loudonville with a funeral service immediately at 12 p.m. Rev. Howard Burnett will officiate with burial to follow in Loudonville Cemetery.
