PARKMAN TWP. – Donna Kay (nee Bell) Payne-Stimmel, 86, of Parkman Township, and Alger, Ohio, passed away Oct. 3, 2018, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
She was born May 16, 1932, in Cleveland, to the late Glenn and Violet (nee Eldridge) Bell.
After she graduated from high school, she received a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University.
Donna was a special Education Teacher for Mentor City Schools for 35 years. She went on to marry her first husband, Ralph Payne, whom she was married to for 54 years until his death in 2008.
In college, she enjoyed playing baseball and field hockey. She assisted the school with making their costumes for plays with her sewing skills.
Donna was a member and devoted Christian with Huntsburg Baptist Church.
She will be sadly missed by her second husband, Ken Stimmel, of Alger; her loving children Steve (Carolyn) Payne, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Susan (Ted) Wojtasik, of Parkman, Dave (Kathy) Payne, of North Olmsted, Bev (Dave) Campbell, of Alger, Tom (Brenda) Stimmel, of Cypress, Texas; son-in-law, Ed Plomske, of Cleveland.
She has 13 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.
Besides his parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph; daughter Holly A. Plomske; brothers, Bill Bell and Jackie Bell.
Calling hours will be held Oct. 8, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield.
A Celebration of her life will be held at the funeral home on Oct. 9, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Paul Radobenko officiating. Burial will follow the service in Overlook Cemetery, Parkman.
