Bobby Joe Bond

BELLVILLE: Bobby Joe Bond, age 88, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 from his Bellville farmhouse surrounded by his family.

Bobby was born October 30, 1932, the son of Harrison and Mona (Dehart) Bond in Olive Hill, Kentucky. At church, he met a young woman named Dolores Louise Crawford and though he moved to Indiana and then Ohio, he eventually had to come back to Kentucky to convince her to move to Ohio and be his wife. On November 10, 1951, he and Dee were married. They shared 67 wonderful years of marriage and together raised two children.

Bobby was a hardworking provider for his family. He was literally a jack of all trades having completed education as a master electrician, welder, plumber, and boiler operator.  His family knew when they needed help, Bobby was the guy to fix it.   He was a full-time farmer on his 50 acre Bellville farm.  Later, he and his son Mike built the new family home all on their own.  At the same time, he also worked full-time for Westinghouse as head of electrical maintenance and retired in 1990 when the factory closed.

He is survived by his son Michael Bond and daughter-in-law Lisa Warner Bond of Canton; his daughter Sheri Myers of Bellville; grandchildren Morgan Taylor Bond, Melanie Johnson, Billie Daley, Jarrad Bond, and Romatt Myers; great-grandchildren Shena and Matt; several great-great-grand grandchildren; several siblings (as Bobby had 17) along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Bobby was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Dee Bond, and his son-in-law, Bill Myers.

His family will receive friends Monday, February 1, 2021, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service honoring Bobby’s life will begin at 3:00 PM officiated by his nephew Raymond Bond. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.  The family will host a memorial gathering at Deer Ridge Golf Club, Black Dog Tavern,  celebrating the reunion of Bobby Joe and Dolores following the graveside service beginning at 4:30 pm.
