Thomas "Gene" Eugene Carroll

Thomas "Gene" Eugene Carroll, 92 passed away February 11. Gene was born January 16, 1929 to John and Minnie Carroll in Norfolk, VA and was the youngest of three sons.
He graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in Business Administration and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant. He worked as a contract buyer for AT&T/Lucent Technology for over 40 years.
He was a member of Alamance Presbyterian Church where he taught Sunday school for many years. Gene was an active member of the Alamance Lion’s Club for 56 years and served as Treasurer and President. He enjoyed giving back to the community and actively serving his Christian faith. Gene loved sports and history and will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor.
Gene is preceded in death by his wife, Martelia Carroll and two brothers, Richard and Johnny Carroll.
He is survived by son, Larry Eugene Carroll; daughter, Vickie Elizabeth Canada and husband Jim Canada; granddaughter, Austyn Canada Case and husband Phillip Case and grandson, Zackary James Canada.
Memorial service will be held at Forbis & Dick Pleasant Garden Chapel, February 14th at 2:00.
