Max E. Pegram

Max E. Pegram, 91, passed away Thursday, November 4th 2021 at his home.
Services will be held at a later date.
Born in Stokesdale, to the late Omer & Stella Pegram. Max met the love of his life, Betty, while stationed in the U.S. Airforce in Wisconsin. They married in 1953 and would have celebrated their 68th anniversary this December. After his military service concluded he longed for a warmer climate and moved to Max’s home state of North Carolina. He was a Greensboro Police officer from 1955 until his retirement in 1969. Max then opened Pegram’s Exxon on Lawndale & Pisgah Church where he worked for 26 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Robert York, III.
He is survived by his wife Betty S. Pegram, daughter Beverly York (Bobby), grandson Marshall York (Britney), great-grandchild, Everly York, son Danny Pegram, grandchild Ted Pegram, sister Peggy, brother, Richard and sister, Becky.
