Leonard J. Turley

GREENSBORO-Leonard John Turley, 83, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on October 10, 2020.
Leonard was born in Jersey City, N. J. on May 20, 1937, the son of William Arnold Turley and Edna Turley. He graduated from Dickinson High School and Farleigh Dickenson University with BS and MBA degrees. He was a longtime employee of Lucent Technologies, and enjoyed 31 years of retirement. Len was a resident of Greensboro, NC for over 40 years and also enjoyed spending time at his lakefront house in Clarksville, VA. Leonard served for over 10 years on the Board of Directors at Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge. He was active in several churches, sang in the choir for over 25 years, and served the church in many capacities. Len was a talented woodworker and leaves behind many cherished pieces and art objects.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Kurt, brother, William Turley, Jr. and his grandson, Grant Reese. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Turley. Children: Linda Bradshaw, Karen Bradford and Jim Turley. Grandchildren: Kristen Reese, Lyndsay, Zack and Kelly Bradford, and Jake, Erik and Caroline Turley.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
