Alice Wright Hilliard

Vara Alice Wright Hilliard passed away on June 29, 2022.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday July 6, 2022, at Forbis & Dick N Elm Chapel, with interment following at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Alice was born on October 30, 1917, in Wake County North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her father Stephen G. Wright and mother Beadie F. Wright, her husband Clarence, Sr., her siblings Bethel, Luther, Lucy, Ellen, Paul, Mahlon and Eva, as well as her granddaughter Kimberly.
Alice is survived by her sister Patty, sons Clarence, Jr. (Diane), Kenneth (Betty), grandchildren Erik, Phillip, Reid and Stephanie. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Alice, Clarence and their two boys farmed in Guilford County while Alice and Clarence worked at Cone Mills. Alice was active in her community, her church and especially with the Eastern Star Organization. Alice was one of the very few to receive the Eastern Star Seventy Five Year service pin.
Following retirement Alice and Clarence moved to their home on Oak Island, North Carolina. There they enjoyed a large garden which they enjoyed sharing with friends and neighbors. They were fortunate to share many years on the island. After Clarence passed away in 2005, Alice divided her time between Oak Island and wintering in Venice Florida. In 2010 Alice made the decision to relocate back to Greensboro and reside at Whitestone Masonic and eastern star Community. These last twelve years were filled with faith and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM before the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Whitestone Masonic and Eastern Star Community.
Forbis & Dick N Elm Chapel is assisting the Hilliard family.
There will be no formal procession to the graveside.
