Carolyn E. Corrente (Gasparini) died peacefully on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the hospital, with her family by her side after a short illness.
She was born on October 19, 1926 in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Constante Gasparini and Jacquelin Dalpan. She married Santo R. Corrente on April 25, 1946 in St. Mary Church, Jamesville. She was a long-term resident of Jamesville. Carolyn worked at Jamesville-Dewitt High School as the office secretary for several years. Carolyn also enjoyed gardening, was an avid card player and managed Nedrow Nursery for several years as well. She was a member of the PTA, Girl Scout Leader and worked with the American Business Women’s Association. She also enjoyed getting together with friends, and spending as much time as she could with her family.
Carolyn, a loving mother and grandmother, is survived by her daughter, Christine (William) Crosland of Havre de Grace, Maryland; her son, Thomas (Joanne) Corrente of West Bloomfield, Michigan; three grandchildren, Kimberly Corrente, David (Rachel) Crosland and Jonathan Corrente. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Santo Corrente; and her daughter, Jacqueline Corrente.
Memorial services were held at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel on Monday, January 11, 2016, with interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
