Veda Barton, age 87, of Belgrade and formerly of Willmar, passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 10, at the Belgrade Nursing Home.A celebration of life service will be held at a later date at Calvary Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Calvary Lutheran Church are preferred. Arrangements are with the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com Veda Barton was born on April 2, 1933, in Price, KY., the daughter of Levi and Mousie Moore, the youngest of nine siblings. She grew up in Price and graduated from McDowell High School in 1950. On January 29, 1951, Veda was united in marriage to John O. Barton and they made their home in Roanoke, VA. In 1953, they moved to the Twin Cities and in 1974, they moved to Willmar. She was employed at the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Willmar. In 1982, they moved to Princeton and purchased the Community State Bank which John and Veda owned and operated until their retirement in 1989. They enjoyed spending many winters in Naples, Florida and Phoenix, Arizona. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, arts, crafts and shopping. She is survived by her husband, John; three daughters, Candace (and Jeff) Williamson of Rosemount; Vivian Barton of Tolleson, AZ., and Christine (and Randy) Moe of Willmar; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Mousie; four brothers, Russell, Palmer, Edgar and Eugene Moore; four sisters, Edna Moore, Birchia Parsons, Verta Milby and Melda Caudill; and a son-in-law, Steven Lenzen.
