Susan McNamara

Susan passed away peacefully on January 12 after a long battle with an illness.She was born, the oldest of 7 kids, to John & Eleanor (Watt) McNamara on January 19, 1945. She grew up in Duluth and spent most of her life here in the city that she loved. Susan was a graduate of Stanbrook Hall High School. She still kept in touch with some of her classmates and fondly spoke of them often. She is survived by 5 of her siblings, her 4 children – Kate (Shaun) Waggoner, Frank McMurrough, Sarah (Paul) St. Andrew, Erin McMurrough and her 6 grandchildren – Emma, Josh, Joey, Rylan, Ryan 7 Kaleigh. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and her brother Mike McNamara. Susan spent her final days reminiscing about the great joys she had in life and the memories she made with family and friends. She requested no funeral be held. To honor her life, her family ask that if you knew her, take a moment to remember her, as she remembered so many.  Her children would like to thank the staff on 2 west at St. Luke’s Hospital and their aunt, Jean McNamara for helping take such good care of her through a difficult journey.
