Marie Enos Brown, Age 102 of Duluth, passed peacefully on November 4, 2020 at Chris Jensen Health and Rehab. Born July 9, 1918 to Harry and Lucy Coy Enos near Akron, Ohio, Marie was raised in Pine County, MN from the age of 5. She graduated from Duluth Teacher’s College in 1940 and, after two years in California as a draftswoman designing military aircraft, returned to northern MN. In 1945 she married Egon (Pat) Brown and they settled in the French River area where they lived for over 50 years and welcomed their son, James. From 1960-1980 she taught at North Shore Community School (NSCS). In her retirement she enjoyed volunteering at NSCS four days a week for over 15 years. James was tragically taken in a car accident in 1971. His friend, Charles Lundin, became a second son to Marie and Pat. Charles and his family were guardian angels to Pat and Marie for the rest of their lives. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pat, son James, and all of her 8 siblings. She is survived by Charles and Linda Lundin, their children and grandchildren, and many adoring nieces and nephews from the Enos and Brown families. Profound thanks to the staff on the Elm Unit at Chris Jensen for their care and especially to Churell. Visitation will be November 7 at 9:00 am with funeral following at 10:00 am at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, MN 55807, 218-208-0223. COVID precautions will be followed.
