Kathleen Frances Magsam, 99, of Bemidji, MN died Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Colleen’s Caring Hands in Bemidji, MN. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Bemidji, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji She was born on June 6, 1922, in Dorset, England, the daughter of Arthur and Minnie (Raymond) Wilkins. She was raised and educated in Shepton Mallet, England, completing school at Grade 8 in those times. She worked in the manors of prominent families as a cook starting at age 14, cooking for over 20 people at a time often. She served as a Firewoman during World War II, met Jack Armstrong of Euclid, MN, and became engaged to him the day before D-Day. They married in England, and moved to Euclid, MN, after the war. They moved to Shevlin, MN, where they farmed, and later to St. Hilaire, MN, where she ran a berry picking patch. Jack passed away in 1984. She married Lester Magsam in 1985, and they lived in Euclid, MN. Lester passed away in 1990. She moved to Bemidji in 1991. She got her drivers license at the age of 72, and cared for elderly people bringing them meals and support. She enjoyed games including jigsaw puzzles, whist, and bingo. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing. She was a talented baker of breads and treats. She loved to socialize and had many dear friends. She is survived by her: Children, Terry (Linda Crandall) Armstrong, Bob (Francis) Armstrong, Lynette “Marie” Anderson, Bruce (Cheryl) Armstrong, Tom (Tammy) Armstrong, Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents, her young daughter Marion Kay, husbands Jack Armstrong, Lester Magsam, siblings Ronald, Donald, Mick, Jeff, Sylvia, Queenie, and Daisy.
