Julie Anne Fredrickson was born 10/4/1956 in Virginia MN to Wayne & Anne Wierimaa and died 9/8/2020 at Solvay Hospice House of mucosal melanoma. Julie graduated from Orr High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UMD. She married Neil Fredrickson September 4, 1982 in Orr, MN. She retired in February 2019 after 39 years from St Louis County as a social worker. Of those 39 years, her favorite place to work was Nopeming Nursing Home, where she spent almost 20 of those years. She loved bike rides, canoe trips with the women’s group from church, and more recently spending time with her grandchildren. Julie was preceded in death by her grandparents Henry & Olga Wierimaa and Esther & John Haugen, father Wayne Wierimaa, brother Bob Wierimaa, in-laws Norman & Evelyn Fredrickson, and many aunts and uncles. Julie is survived by her husband Neil Fredrickson, son Dustin Fredrickson (Malia), daughter Kristine Stanny (Chris), grandchildren Marisa Fredrickson and Ezra Stanny and her mother Anne Haugen Wierimaa. She is also survived by her sister Sue Janson (Loren), sister in law Bev Goyette, brothers in law Wes (Sue) and Gary Fredrickson, and numerous lifetime friends. Julie was a member of Family of God Lutheran Church for 34 years where she volunteered in many capacities. Due to COVID, a small private family service will be held, with inurnment in the memorial wall at Family of God Lutheran Church.
