Judy Sward Surman, a Concord, CA resident, died on Sept. 28, 2020. She was born on Sept. 5, 1942 to Elmer and Grace Sward in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated in 1960 from Central High School and began working at Northern Central National Bank.In 1966 she married Frank Thompson and moved to Colorado Springs, CO. Tracey was born in 1967. In 1974 she married Robert F. Surman and moved to California. In 1980 they had a son, Robert John who died 4 days later. In 1984 she received with an art degree. She began a commercial window painting business and worked until 2019. Judy was active in animal rescue; loved to dance to rock and roll music; and enjoyed painting and sold some of her works. She is survived by her husband and her daughter. In Duluth, she is survived by her brothers, Joe and Roger (Vicki) and her sisters Janice (David) Anderson, Janene (Uldis) Adamson, Terri (Melissa) Sward, and sister-in-law, Lisa Sward. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, son, and her brother, Roland. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Duluth, MN.
