Jerome “Jerry” Louis Lambert, 86, of Esko, passed away surrounded by loved ones on October 26, 2020 at Solvay Hospice House after a brave and dignified battle with ALS.Jerry was born November 1, 1933 in Duluth to Elmer and Anne Lambert. Raised in a loving home, he grew up in West Duluth and attended Denfeld High School. Jerry had many jobs in his lifetime but for over 30 years he was employed by St. Louis County as a Painter at Nopeming, before retiring in 1994. Jerry married the love of his life, Annette Atkinson, on December 10, 1960 and together they raised five children in West Duluth and eventually moved to a hobby farm in Esko. Jerry was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Passing before him and waiting to greet him are his parents; sisters, Pat Swapinski and Judy LeDoux; brother-in-law, Frank Ehlenbach; and grandson, Matthew Wyzykowski. Jerry is survived by his wife, Annette; children, Shelli Henricks, Kristina (Tom) Wyzykowski, Kirk (Cheryl) Lambert, Jess (Teresa) Lambert and Kenn (Lisa) Lambert; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Ehlenbach; brother-in law, Ed Swapinski; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and his beloved dog, Pippi. The family would like to thank all the caregivers along the way that Jerry referred to as his “Angels” and especially the kind, caring and compassionate staff at Solvay Hospice House. Due to Covid, a private family service and burial will be held in November. In lieu of gifts, the family wishes any memorials in memory/honor of Jerry be made to Solvay Hospice House or the ALS society.
