James W. Johnson, 85, of Cloquet, died Friday, February 5, 2021 in Moose Lake Villages, Moose Lake. He was born in March of 1935 in Cloquet, the son of Clifford and Mary Johnson. Jim was a 1953 graduate of Cloquet High School. He married Marguerite “Peggy” Blair on July 6, 1957.Jim was a long-time employee in the coating department of Potlatch, retiring after 47 years of employment. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, but his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, and his parents. Jim is survived by three children, Scott (Sue) of Esko, Jason (Nancy) of Cloquet and Jody (Craig) Larson of Bemidji; two grandchildren, Austin (Olivia) Johnson and Caitlin (Jarrett) Siems; four great grandchildren, Eli and Avery Siems and Paisley and Dallas Johnson; three brothers and a sister. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service, Thursday, February 11, 2021 in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Cloquet. Masks and social distancing will be required. From the funeral home parking lot, the service may be heard by tuning to 98.3. Memorials may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank. Cards of condolence may be sent to the family c/o Atkins-Northland Funeral Home.
