Geraldine “Jerri” D. Erickson formerly from Duluth died Monday July 6th in Sun City Arizona. Jerri was born in Chicago in 1924 before moving to Duluth Minnesota when she was three. She was preceded in death by parents Victoria and Byron Shafer, husband Reuben “Rick” Erickson, Sister Nora Lou Venne, brothers-in-law Howard and Gordon Erickson and Bill Venne.Jerri is survived by Nieces Sandy Gonzalez, Susan (Doug) Harrington, and Judy (Doug) Penman. Nephews David (Ruth) and Stephen (Barb) Erickson. Sister-in-law Dorothy Tucker. Special friend Jim Fierek. After graduating from Denfeld High School Jerri worked in Chicago and later in Duluth MN, Oklahoma City, and Phoenix AZ. She and husband Rick volunteered in numerous Western Electric and other pro golf tournaments while living in Oklahoma and Arizona. She and Rick were dog lovers and were parents to many fur babies over the years. Most recently Jerri participated in reunion events for Rick’s 100th Bomb Group (Square D) group from WWII. She was a well-known hostess to family and friends for holidays and special event gatherings. Jerri will be interred at a later date near her husband Rick at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
