Barbara Romano Hogg, 87, Duluth, MN, passed away Friday January 15, in Solvay Hospice House. She was born in Duluth on January 8, 1934 to Harold and Anne Pederson and lived in Duluth most of her life. She graduated high school from Stanbrook Hall and college from UMD, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Art. Barb was very active in the community, volunteering for a number of organizations including Girl Scouts, Y-Wives, Glensheen and Aftenro. She held a number of jobs, most notably with the Duluth Convention and Visitor’s Bureau where she loved to tell folks about our wonderful city. She loved watching sports, with her main love being UMD hockey. Barb was a lifelong member of St. Michael’s Church and enjoyed singing in the choir there for many years.Barb was proceeded in death by her parents and two husbands, Ralph Romano Sr. and Kenneth Hogg III. She is survived by her sisters Carol (Dick) Olsen, Jane (Byron) Gregerson, Judy (Jim) Archambeau and Mary (Ted) Koenecke. She is also survived by her children Ralph, (Paula) Romano, Jr, Elaine Romano, Jeff (Sheryl) Romano, Kevin (Julie) Romano and Paul (Lynette) Romano, along with 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was known for her positive spirit and outlook on life and those qualities will be remembered by all who encountered her. Due to these challenging times, we will not be having a current celebration of life but will be holding one at a later date.
