Rita M. Lutomski passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Bay Medical Care Facility at the age of 91. She was born on June 7, 1924 in Bay City to Isidore and Martha (Ciesielski) Lutomski, who passed away when Rita was a young child. At the age of 12, Rita made her home with her Aunt Helen (Ciesielski) and Uncle Walter Gwizdala. Rita worked at Jennison Hardware in Bay City for many years before retiring. She was a long standing member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and an Honorary Member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church Rosary / Altar Sodality. Rita had a strong Catholic faith and gave financial support to various missions whose objective was to help the poor and forgotten both in the U.S. and Poland. She enjoyed watching mass on TV and listening to polish hymns. Rita is survived by two nieces; Mimi (Brock) Taylor of Longmont, CO. and Candace (Erv) Barchenger of Edwardsville, IL. and their families. Also surviving are many cousins whom considered her their “Aunt Rita”; Gerry Przybylski, Carole Gwizdala, her caretaker Diane Gwizdala, Richard (Joyce) Gwizdala, Debbie (Dennis) Jones, Darcy (Bill) Besson, Cheryl (Ed) Leppek, Duane Gwizdala, Dennis (Joy) Gwizdala, Sharon (Paul) Tacey, Mary Kay Gwizdala (Burt Poland), Barbara Gwizdala, Lynnette Przybylski, Sheri (Brian) Backus, Kevin (Julie) Przybylski and their families. Rita was predeceased by her brother, Reginald Lutomski – Howard, her cousins; Chester (Josephine) Gwizdala, Virginia Gwizdala, Eugene Gwizdala, James Przybylski and a great – nephew, Christopher Anderson. A Prayer Service will take place on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. from the Ambrose Funeral Home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Fr. Rick Filary will officiate with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 – 8 p.m. and on Monday after 8:30 a.m. Members of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church Rosary/Altar Sodality will pray the rosary on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.
