William Richard Theobald, 94

William Richard Theobald, 94, Greensburg, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg with loved ones at his side. Born, June 4, 1926 in Rush County, Indiana, he was the son of Harry and Lois Ione (Wiley) Theobald. Bill graduated from Greensburg High School in 1944. He served as a Fireman 1st class in the Navy from 1946 – 1947. He returned to Decatur County and farmed several farms along with working at the Greensburg Post Office, where he retired July 4, 1987.  He also had worked at the Decatur County Sherriff’s Department. He was married to Mary L. Mobley on October 25, 1965 and she survives. He is also survived by one son, Keith Theobald, Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Marilyn Theobald, Lawrenceburg, Barb Dougherty, Greensburg; step son, Dan Mobley; step daughter, Mary Ann Barnett; brother, Tom Theobald; sister, Margaret Ann Linville; grandchildren, Heather Looby, Phillip Looby, William Dougherty, Brandon Dougherty, Bryan Dougherty, Keshia Theobald-Van Gent, Jacob Theobald, Becky Redfern, Todd Barnett, Ian Mobley, Andrew Mobley, Chris Mobley, Pat Mobley, Jenny Mobley, Jennifer Connally, Melissa Mobley; Great Grandchildren, Marley Dougherty, Joshua Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Presley Mobley, Liam Mobley, Kiersten Mobley, Hailey Mobley, Isaac Mobley. He was preceded in death by his parents and two stepsons, Mike & Tom Mobley. Visitation will be at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home on Sunday, June 28, 2020 from 2 pm to 3 pm following CDC guidelines for social distancing. Funeral Services will start at 3 pm on Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Jerran Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Cemetery.
