SEITZ, Jimmy

Jimmy “Jim” Lee Seitz, 81, of Kokomo passed away at 5:20am Friday January 4, 2019 at Community Howard Regional Health. Born March 15, 1937 in Kokomo, he was the son of Walter and Dorothy (Williams) Seitz. He was a 1955 valedictorian graduate of Northwestern High School; also a 1959 Purdue University graduate. In 1989, he married Margaret Ann (McKinney), who survives. He founded Country Squire Carry Out in Kokomo in 1965. He operated the business until his retirement in 1992. He was an avid Purdue Football fan and Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include his wife Margaret Ann Seitz of Kokomo; one son Timothy (Lesley) Seitz of Indianapolis; one daughter Amy (Scott) Slade of Carmel; three step-sons David (Angela) McKinney of Kokomo, Daniel (Jami) McKinney of Indianapolis, and Douglas (Stacy) McKinney of Kokomo; one step-daughter Deborah (Tom) Foster of Carmel; and one sister Sally Seitz of Kokomo. There are thirteen grandchildren Emily Slade, Lilah Seitz, Amanda McKinney, Megan Detro, Rebecca Detro, Sarah Detro, Rachel Detro, Zachary McKinney, Emily McKinney, Matthew McKinney, Joseph (Carly) Sullivan, Randi McKinney, Abbey McKinney and a great granddaughter Shelby.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jerry Seitz.
Pastor William Duncan will be officiating A Celebration of Life service at 6:00pm Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, with friends gathering from 3-6pm on the same day.
