O'VADKA, Debra Nov 5, 1955 – Sep 28, 2018

Debra Kay O'Vadka, 62, Peru, passed away at 1:13 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at her home. She was born Nov. 5, 1955, in Kokomo, to Raphael and Diane (D'Agostino) Russeau. On Oct. 2, 1982, she married Karl J. O'Vadka, and he survives.
Debra graduated from Western High School in 1974 and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in education with interdisciplinary honors from Indiana University Kokomo. She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, gardening and tending her flowers. She was a wonderful seamstress and used her talent to help make the wardrobes for the Peru Circus. She was a precinct committeewoman for the Pipecreek 1 District.
In addition to her husband, Debra is survived by her mother; children, Jennifer (Richard) Conway, Amanda (Ryan) Simpson and Zachary (Samantha) O'Vadka; grandchildren, Patrick, Caitlyn, Dalton, Savanna, Nichole, Mikel, Trenton, Mason, and Alex; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Terri (Gary) Mills, Raphael Russeau, Joan (Carl) Berryman, John (Debbie) Russeau, Joseph (Andrea) Russeau and Jason Russeau; sister-in-law, Ellen (John) Bowen; special friends, Pam Childers, Sharon Rush, and Barb Hanson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Monsignor Edward B. Branch officiating. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at the funeral home.
