HUNT, James

James Thomas “Tom” Hunt of Rolla, Missouri, passed away July 7, 2020, at the age of 88. He was born in Logansport, Indiana, in 1932, the first child of the late Kermit and Edith (Kitson) Hunt.
From the time of his youth, he developed an appreciation for the outdoors that carried throughout his life.
From 1955 to 1957, Tom served in the United States Army. He graduated from Purdue University with a forestry degree.
Tom is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia; children, Bryan (Mulima) Hunt, Martha (John) Lage and Matthew Hunt, all of Missouri; six beloved grandchildren, Maghan, Chad, Rebecca, Jack, Lilato and Kozo; sister, Carol (Ziney) Jones, of Indiana; brother, David (Kim) Hunt, of Indiana; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by sisters, Shirley Young and Bess Austin, and brothers, Gerald Hunt and William Hunt.
An informal remembrance to celebrate Tom’s life was Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020, at the old carousel building in Riverside Park, Logansport, Indiana, with his final resting place in Michigan.
