Humerickhouse, Dwight

Dwight R. Humerickhouse, 73, Macy (Nyona Lake), passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 21, 2019, in the emergency room at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
Born October 31, 1946, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Dwight F. and Zurtha (Minter) Humerickhouse.
On August 3, 1996, in Fulton, he was married to Connie (Pugh) Humerickhouse, who survives.
Following graduation from Logansport High School, Dwight enlisted in the United States Army where he served three years during the Vietnam War.
After being honorably discharged for his service, Dwight began his career at Matthew-Warren. In 2015, he retired after 45 years of employment, which speaks volumes of his work ethic and his loyalty.
Dwight was a quiet soul who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like sitting on the deck and watching the sunset and spending time with his wife and family – especially his grandchildren. He was an avid football fan, even more so when Notre Dame or the Bears were on the field. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles and passing time on his Kindle.
Surviving with his wife of twenty-three years, Connie Humerickhouse, are two stepsons, Christopher C. (Anita) Shultz, and Mark A. Shultz (Heather Travis), all of Huntington; one sister, Grace Sweet, of Logansport; and four grandchildren: Peyton, Trey, Drew (Ashley) and Kelsey Shultz.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, James, Betty Lou and Elvie May.
A Funeral Service celebrating Dwight’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 25 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Dawn Fisher, Celebrant, officiating. Full Military Honors will be accorded to Dwight at the start of the service by the U.S. Army and the Cass County Honor Guard.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Friends will be received from noon until 2 p.m. on Monday in the funeral chapel.
