GASKILL, Carol Mar 29, 1950 – Oct 20, 2020

Carol Ann Gaskill, 70, passed away 6 a.m. Tuesday, Oct 20, 2020, at home in the arms of her husband, and sister-in-law Mary (Gaskill) Snyder, following a two-year battle with lung cancer. Carol was born March 29, 1950, in Kokomo to Bud and Dorothy (Kuntz) Gates. On March 1, 1969 she married George Martin “Marty” Gaskill. Carol especially loved her grandparents Orel and Mae Kuntz, who raised her.
After graduating from Kokomo High School in 1968, Carol went on to earn an associate degree from Ivy Tech. In 1978, Carol left Delco Electronics to be a full-time homemaker. As a member of Parkview United Methodist Church in Peru, Carol enjoyed the love and friendship of the ladies of the United Methodist Women’s group, and many other members of the congregation. Carol had several close friends at Parkview, who know who they are.
Carol loved to make quilts, and had a gifted talent for the craft. Having made over 800 quilts since 1983, she donated many to tornado and hurricane victims, veterans, homeless shelters, and homes for abused woman and children. Carol readily shared her knowledge and skills to anyone eager to learn. Carol was also named as the featured quilter for the 2015 Kokomo Piecemakers’ Quilt Guild show.
Carol leaves behind her husband of almost 52 years; son, Erik; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jasmine (Morgan); brother, Mike Barlow; and sister Cheryl “Cheri” Garner.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Cathy (Barlow) Ciccollela.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St., Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, with the Rev. J. Robert Clark and the Rev. Bette Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
