FLOYD, Billy Feb 5, 1939 – Oct 13, 2020

Billy E. Floyd, age 81, Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born in New Castle on Feb. 5, 1939, to John Robert Floyd Sr. and Margaret (Messer) Floyd.
He graduated from Spiceland High School in 1957. Billy attended Ball State University and Indiana University Kokomo. He served in the Air Force during Vietnam in 1958-1992. He married Priscilla (McGuire) Floyd on Sept. 24, 1961.
He worked for Indiana Bell, now AT&T, as a technician from 1968-2002. Billy attended Brookville Road Community Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post #119. Billy was also vice president for CWA Local 4900. He enjoyed golf, photography, reading, and playing brass instruments in the Air Force band.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Floyd, of Greenfield; son, Jeffrey Floyd, of Idaho; daughter, Lisa (Brian) Dirck, of Greenfield; sister, Audrey Atkinson, of Kokomo; brother, Pete (Becky) Pardue, of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert Floyd Sr. and Margaret (Messer) Floyd; brother, John Floyd Jr.; and sisters, Mildred Poetter and Bernice Williams.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020, from 3 until 5 p.m. at Brookville Road Community Church. A funeral service will follow visitation, beginning at 5 p.m. Pastor Kris Sorensen will be officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Air Force and local Veteran’s Honor Guard. As a reminder, masks are required in public indoor spaces and please practice social distancing.
