CORSO SR., Anthony 'Tony' Mar 12, 1927 – Mar 4, 2021

Tony was born March 12, 1927, in Logansport, Indiana, to Pat F. and Josephine (Palumbo) Corso.
Three days after his 17th birthday in 1944, Tony enlisted in the United States Navy. During World War II, he served aboard the USS LST 777 in the Pacific Fleet as a quartermaster (navigator technician). In 1948, he enlisted in the United States Air Force.
Tony married the former Ayako Yazaki of Tokyo, Japan, in 1952. Tony named his wife Susan. He retired from the Air Force as a flight engineer in 1966, and they chose Parkland, Washington, as their home.
He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean and Vietnam wars, receiving 14 medals and decorations. During the Gulf War, Tony served as the civilian manager of the U.S. Naval Supply Department on the Island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.
Tony was a member of the Logansport High School graduating class of 1947.
After Tony’s retirement from the Air Force, Susan worked to support the family, allowing Tony to attend the University of Puget Sound, graduating with B.A. and M.P.A. degrees. In 1983, he combined his military and 30-year civil service to retire as a quality assurance auditor (GS-11).
After his Susan passed, Tony married a longtime family friend, Anita Olson Becklund, on June 23, 2007.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ayako (Susan); his parents; and brother, Salvatore (Sal).
He is survived by his wife, Anita; four sons, Anthony “Tony” Jr. (wife, Christine), Pat F. II (wife, Luan), Urban “Sam” (wife, Valerie) and Nicholas (Diane); eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four stepchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; brother, Richard; and sister-in-law, Mary Alice, of Logansport, Indiana.
