COOMBS, Nina Jul 29, 1923 – Jun 18, 2019

Nina Ann Coombs went to be with the Lord on June 18, 2019. She was born July 29, 1923, in Adair County, Kentucky, the daughter of Lora N. Burton and Nannie F. (McElroy) Burton.
Nina made Kokomo her home in 1943 and worked at General Motors from 1963 until she retired in 1990. Nina married Cleatus L. Coombs in 1946.
She is survived by sons, Michael K. Coombs (Samrye), Tumwater, Washington, and Kevin K. Coombs (Jennifer), Kokomo; grandchildren, Summer Coombs (Alie Ehrensaft), Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kane Combs, Kokomo, Danelle Larrison, Kokomo, Tyler French, Indianapolis, and Trent (Jenny) French, Clinton, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Sam, Nathan, Hannah, Jackson, Elli and Trinity; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Elmo (Zula) Burton, Woodrow (Dorothy) Burton, Marshall (Rosabee) Burton, Frank (Sue) Burton, Bonnie (Nolan) Burton, Hazel (Paul) Burton, Jane (Bill) Daniels; and grandson, Jonas Coombs.
She was a devoted member of the Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Local UAW 292. Nina had a sizable family whom she thought the world of. She especially enjoyed spending time with them going to all the family gatherings.
A committal celebration of her life will be noon Monday, June 24, 2019, at Sunset Memory Garden in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum. A gathering of friends will be the same day, Monday June 24, 2019, from 10:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel.
