Lucile Sapp Willis, 92 of Metter passed away on April 4, 2016, at Bethany Oaks Nursing Home in Vidalia following a short illness.
Ms. Willis was a homemaker and worked at Twin City Manufacturing Company for 25 years. She was a Baptist and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. She loved gardening and growing flowers, canning, cooking and anything that pertained to her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sons, J.D., Sam and Doyle Sapp; a grandson, Jeff Sapp; parents, Newt and Vertie Meeks; brothers, Edward and Peyton Meeks; sisters, Jackie Roberts and Betty Hunt.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Sapp “Shug” Giles of Metter; a brother, Elton G. (Dee) Meeks of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Jake, Jeremy, and Jamey Sapp, Robin (Shane) Edenfield, Brooke Sapp and Brandy (Matt) Rogers; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and Margie Hendrix, her best friend, roommate and companion at Bethany Oaks Nursing Home for six years.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 7, from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. with services to follow in the chapel of Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jake Sapp, Jonah Rushing, Guy Parker, Hut Kingery and Charlie Tucker.
