James Edward Tomberlin, 82, of Cairo, GA passed away at his home Thursday, October 22, 2020. The family is planning to have a private memorial service.
Mr. Tomberlin was born on June 6, 1938, in Nashville, GA, to the late Bernice Tomberlin and Susie Brantley Tomberlin. On December 24, 1960, he married Mary Ernestine Tomberlin who preceded him in death on October 4, 2015. Before retiring, he spent his career working for the Harvey’s Corporation as a grocery store manager. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cairo.
Survivors include: daughters; Constance Fulp of Green Cove Springs, FL, Lynn Tomberlin of Cairo, GA; son, Eddie Tomberlin of Cairo, GA; grandchildren; Chris Wilkerson of Gaffney, SC, Jonathan Simcox (Amber) of Green Cove Springs, FL, Kala Bennett (Matt) of Adel, GA, Trey Tomberlin of Thomasville, GA, Cetoria Tomberlin of Rome, GA, Kylie Harris of Cairo, GA, Emily Johnson of Cairo, GA, great-grandchildren, Brian Page, Troy Wilkerson, Alexis Wilkerson, Caleb Wilkerson, Emmie Lou Bennett, Miller Bennett, Winter Simcox, Dallas Simcox; sisters-in-laws, Micky Tomberlin of Green Cove Springs, FL, May Tomberlin of Nashville, GA, Jo Ann Tomberlin of McLeansboro, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by parents; wife; brothers, Howard Tomberlin, Billy Tomberlin, Robert Tomberlin, Wayne Tomberlin and Frank Tomberlin; and a sister, Helen Millirons.
