Foster Harold Holloway, D.D.S., 90, of Metter and husband of the late Mattie “Jerri” Holloway, died Friday evening, April 1, 2016 at Cedar Plantation Assisted Living.
Born near Cobbtown, he was the son of Timothy Talmadge Holloway, Sr. and Maxie Collins Holloway. Dr. Holloway was a member of the Metter First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and Emory University where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Dr. Holloway was a veteran of the United States Airforce, having served in World War II and the Korean War. He owned and operated Foster Holloway, D.D.S in Augusta for many years before retiring to the Metter area in 1994 where he and his wife Jerri Holloway built the first “Smart Home” in the area.
In addition to his wife, Dr. Holloway was preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy Talmadge Holloway, Jr., Strickland “Strick” Holloway, and his sister, Katie Holloway Killingsworth.
Surviving are his son, David W. Holloway and his fiancé, Sandy Mankowski of Bluffton, South Carolina; his daughter, Debra H. Manning and her husband, Dennis of Jacksonville; his sweetheart, Eloise Cowart of Metter; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the Metter First Baptist Church with Reverend Tom Osborne and Dr. William Perry officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers were Deacons and members of the Antioch Sunday School Class.
Interment was in Primitive Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
