Corwin Barfield

Passed away peacefully on Dec. 31st., 2015. He was 84. Born and raised in Oakland, Ca. Survived by his daughter Bridget Fisher (Brett), his only grandchild, Kaitlyn Fisher, his son Timothy Barfield, his brother Phillip Barfield (Alice), his sister-in-law Dierdre Fleming, many wonderful nieces and nephews and his Significant Other, Patricia Prink.
He earned his degree, in Education, from San Jose College (SJSU) and his MS from Stanford University.
He served in the Army, during the Korean War.
He enjoyed a 33 year career as a teacher and principal, in the Berryessa Union School district. He felt strongly about the importance of music in schools and was the director of the Piedmont Middle School Lancer Marching Unit. He was the Chairman of the Berryessa Art and Wine Festival, with proceeds going to music programs, in Berryessa schools.
He and his late wife of 41 years,Pat loved to travel and were avid bird watchers.
He spent most days in the garden and volunteered as gardener for the Silicon Valley Wildlife Center, until he was 82.
He will be missed, by many.
Out of respect for his wishes, there will be no services.
