Algie Augusta Shanklin, 81, of Suisun City died Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, in Vacaville, California.

Algie was born March 7, 1935, in Coalwood, West Virginia, to Algie and Connie Shanklin. He served in the Air Force as an aircraft electrician at Travis AFB and battery technician at Mare Island Naval Shipyard totaling 36 years of civil service.

Shank loved to fish, laugh and was generous to his loved ones.

Shank is survived by son, Algie A. Shanklin; daughters, Venis Boyd (Gerald), Tracy Anderson (Ken); brother, Edward Shanklin; sisters, Maxine Williams and Hortense Shanklin Miller; favorite cousin, Pearl Hamby; numerous grandsons, granddaughters, great-granddaughters and great-grandsons, nieces, nephews; and his ex-wife, Lucille Shanklin.

Algie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, OC “Billy” Shanklin.

Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, California.

  1. Hey Algie the third. This is Kurt Haueter. We were in 4th grade together with Mrs. Grace at Travis Elementary. So sorry to hear about your Dad. It looks like he was a great guy.
