Michelle Florence Antelope “Mitch,” 45, of Wapato, WA was surrounded by loved ones by her side when she went to be with our creator on September 17, 2017.
She was born in Toppenish, WA on January 4, 1972 to Sheryl (Abraham) Antelope and the late Robert Antelope. She was a member of the Northern Arapaho tribe of Wind River Indian Reservation and a descendent of the Yakama Nation tribe. She graduated from Wapato High School in 1990. Worked for the Yakama Nation for many years. She enjoyed taking care of her niece Aiyana Alvarado and nephew Darren Antelope whom she loved very much along with all of her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She loved to keep herself busy doing yard work, decorating her room and the house. She also learned how to make moccasins, as well as teaching her nieces how to make necklaces, bracelets, and shawls. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her mother Sheryl (Abraham) Antelope of Wapato, WA, her niece and nephew Aiyana Alvarado and Darren Antelope, three brothers, Dana, Darren Antelope and Blanco White all of Wapato, WA, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews all from Washington, Idaho and Wyoming. She is preceded in death by her companion Erik George, father Robert Antelope, sister Deanna Antelope, and grandparents Taylor, Florence (Oatman) Abraham, Ralph and Mary (Redman) Antelope.
Dressing services will be at 1 pm Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Toppenish Colonial Funeral Home. Following the dressing she will be taken to the Toppenish Longhouse for overnight services.
