Frankin Willard Brandenberger

Franklin Willard Brandenberger went to be with his Lord and Savior on 12/31/2015.

He was born on his dad’s ranch near Hilda, Texas, on 8/6/1925 to his parents, Wesley and Esther Brandenberger.

Franklin learned to drive at about 10 years old and had special permission to drive kids from his area of county to school. He spoke only German at home and told of getting in trouble at school for not speaking English in first grade when teacher could hear. He joined Merchant Marines during World War II and served as a cook and baker on tankers, said captain and officers never messed with the cooks.

He met Marjorie Blumberg through arranged blind date by Chris and Myrtle Deschner. soon married Marjorie and had almost a 69 year union. Franklin was a talker and spent most of his working years selling everything from milk door-to-door to Kellogs to Nestle’s chocolate. He served his community in McQueeney Lions Club for many years and was a lifetime member. He and Marjorie were life long members of Seguin’s First United Methodist Church.

Franklin was proceeded in death by his parents and sister Imogene Loftin and grandson Rodney Brandenberger.

He is survived by his sisters Florence Smith and Gladys Hamman, son Barry and his wife, Donna and daughter Amber and son Justin and wife, Lindsay, son Dennis and wife Vickie and sons Wesley and Clint, daughter Kristin and husband Mark Martinez, and his great grand children Aidan, Axel, Addox, Astin, Angelica, Alize and baby Asher. .

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 15 at the McQueeny Lions Club .
