Stanley Gordon Boykin went home to be with his Lord on January 11, 2016, after a two-year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Sue of Lindale, Texas; three sons, Steve (Carol) of Niceville, Florida; Kerry of Bastrop, Texas; and Kent (Vickie) of Payson, Utah; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margy Jaynes (Sonny), and Mary Frances Burks (Kenny); and brother, Richard Boykin. Stan was born in Centerville, Texas on August 6, 1937. He served in the United States Navy as a physician’s assistant and retired from the Houston Fire Department after 20 years of distinguished service. Stan served on the Smith County Emergency Services District #1 Board of the Lindale Volunteer Fire Department and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lindale. An avid bird watcher, he loved to study and teach ornithology. The family invites friends and family to celebrate his life and the Savior he served with passion on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Lindale. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart to Heart Hospice, 7925 South Broadway Ave, Suite #1140 Tyler, Texas, 75703.
