Funeral service for Elder Tasco Bailey, 98, Tyler is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Christian Teaching Center with Pastor Anthony Coleman officiating and Bishop Larry D. Wade Sr. as eulogist. Elder Bailey died January 7, 2016 at Hospice of East Texas.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler.
Elder Tasco Bailey was born October 18, 1917 in Lindale, Texas to the late parentage of Mr. Moun Douglas Bailey and Eva Lena Starks Bailey. He served in the U S Army during WW II. He retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad Co. after 36 years of service. He later retired from the City of Tyler as a school crossing guard after 13 years of service. He was a member of Bethel Temple COGIC.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, daughter, son, grand-daughter, five brothers, and four sisters.
Survivors include six sons; Nathaniel, Curlie Sr. (Sandra), Roy (Retha), Bill, James L. Sr. (Lena), Earl; two daughters; Mary Dunlap and Lucille (Major) Martin all of Tyler, brothers; Samuel (Fannie), Tyler, Luther (Hattie), Las Vegas, NV; three sisters-in-law, Leoda Bailey, Grapeland, TX; Ruth Collins, Syracuse, NY and Ivory McClure, Conway, Ark., thirty-two grandchildren; fifty-one great grandchildren, and fourteen great great grandchildren.
